State Fair---And Our Rodeo Star!!!

Fawn had asked us to go to the Utah State Fair with her and Paul's parents. They were having a Rodeo, and had a mutton bustin event, that they randomly drew names for the contestants, and Kayden really wanted to do it again. (Will post about this when I find the camera from that night.) When it was time for the signup, Fawn asked Lexi if she wanted to do it, I was totally against it but Paul said ok, and so did Lexi. They went and registered for the drawing and we saved ourselves some seats for the rodeo----Paul went back early to sit with the jackets to make sure that no one took our spots, and that was a good thing because people tried to take our seats that had jackets on them, while we were out finding something for dinner. The kids really wanted to go on a ride, so we pulled our money and purchased enough tickets for 7 people to go on 1 ride each, a Giant Ferris wheel.

After the ride, we went to the arts & crafts building to look for Mom & Natalie's entries. They did great!!!

Then we went back to the rodeo stadium, for the announcement of who would be able to do the event. Well sure enought Lexi's name was drawn, and Kayden's wasn't. He was a little bummed out about that, but supported her. It should have been him, because he was dressed for it in Levis, long sleeve shirt, vest and chaps. While Lexi was wearing shorts and a t-shirt. When it was time for her to go, Fawn took her back there, and helped her. The announcer commented that maybe next time her parents could dress her more appropriate.

After the ride Lexi was a little freaked out and the problem was Fawn didn't know how to get in to the arena, and Lexi was crying because she was all alone, She even asked the Rodeo clown for help. Finally Fawn got to her and calmed her down. When she fell off of the sheep---she split her lip open. Lexi did really well, she came in with the 2nd most points, the person who had the most won a new bike, and a $50 gift certificate to boondocks....ohh well.

Here she is with her Patch that she recieved, you can tell she isn't happy. But if you ask Lexi if she will do it again, she will tell you no way.

After the rodeo we looked at the rest of the animals that we hadn't visited yet..The girls liked petting the goats... check out this rabbit, it looked kind of like a dog. And the girls wanted their pictures taken in the cut out things.

On the way home all the girls fell asleep. Lexi in the backseat, and Kami, Liz & Addison looked like dominos that had fallen over, tried to get a good picture, but didn't work out too well, and they woke up when we stopped at Addison's house. Some are with my camera, the other from my phone, but you can get the idea.
